The Mechanism

How Acupuncture Works

Nervous System

Acupuncture stimulates sensory nerves and can influence the body’s natural pain-regulating mechanisms, including the release of endorphins.

Blood Flow

Treatment may help improve local circulation and support blood and oxygen flow to tissues.

Traditional Chinese Medicine

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, acupuncture regulates the movement of Qi through the body’s channel and organ systems, restoring balance where there is excess, deficiency or stagnation.
